DropDart reimagines last-mile delivery by letting everyday people deliver parcels while travelling their regular routes. We designed and built the full platform — from rider onboarding to customer booking — in eight weeks.
Last-mile delivery in India is dominated by large logistics companies with dense, procedural interfaces built for professional drivers — not for everyday people making a trip across town.
DropDart came to us with a different model: let people deliver parcels along routes they're already travelling. Someone driving from Jubilee Hills to Begumpet could pick up a parcel along the way, deliver it, and earn while doing something they'd do anyway. Smart idea — but it needed software that made the whole thing feel effortless for someone who'd never delivered a parcel before.
The challenge: build a platform that served three completely different users — the sender booking a pickup, the courier accepting and completing a delivery, and the admin tracking everything — and make each flow feel like a different product while sharing the same visual system. In eight weeks. Fixed price.
We started with a week of discovery — mapping the core jobs each user type needed to do, identifying the moments that mattered most (a courier accepting a job, a sender tracking their parcel in real time), and deciding where the product needed to make decisions for users vs. surface them.
Design and development ran in parallel from week two. We used weekly check-ins to catch scope drift early. The fixed-price contract meant every feature decision had a real cost attached to it — which kept the product lean and the timeline honest.
The courier onboarding flow was the highest-risk UX bet: getting someone with no delivery experience to complete their first job without calling support. We tested the flow internally with non-designers in the team and iterated twice before handoff.
DropDart launched on schedule. The platform went live with real deliveries in the first week. Eight weeks from first call to live product — which is the timeline we quoted, and the timeline we hit.
The courier onboarding flow tested well with first-time users. The admin dashboard gave the DropDart team visibility they didn't have before — every order, every courier, every dispute in one place.
